We all have a favourite look, don’t we? With all the spring fashion shows over, for Spring/Summer 2014, my personal pick for star designer is Uma Wang. Love, love, love is oozing from me for her. I would buy and wear nothing else but this whole collection for the entire summer and beyond if I could.
I’ve been following Uma Wang for a couple of years now and thought I’d never see anything by her that I liked more than her 2012 A/W Collection but I think this S/S 2014 Collection is even more impressive.
Such beautiful form and fabric. I love all the colours from white through fawn, pale blue to greige and black. The shoes, again – I featured Uma Wang shoes last year – just lovely. So exquisitely understated. Good grief, I am positively waxing lyrical here and that is rare, for me, over an entire collection. I will end at: truly stunning and inspirational.
With lots of style ideas that would work for both plus sizes and the permanently – wheelchair – seated amongst us. I have featured some of my absolute favourite outfits here – remember to check out the shoes – but do go across and see the entire Spring Collection in stills: Uma Wang on Fashionising.com. Or watch the Youtube video below.
The current A/W collection is appearing in shops now – I’d start with a search on Farfetch for a quick look at what’s new (including some yummy long scarves, one of which may find its’ way into my personal collection if I’m lucky) then explore Google.
To me, Uma Wang still seems to be a relatively under-rated designer or is it that her ‘style’ will always be of niche interest? I am saddened she does not get more coverage by the mainstream fashion press as I really do think that her design ethos would suit so many of us with less conventional shapes and lives who are looking for fabulous and easy livin’ style.
I hope you enjoy what you see and I’d love to know who the designer of your favourite collection for S/S 2014 is? Thanks, as always, for your interest.
