Finally, some grown-up style at New York Fashion Week (NYFW): Brandon Maxwell NYFW RTW Fall 2018.
Oh, sure, grown-up is not what the bi-annual runway shows are about and I’m not averse to kicks and giggles or ‘ooh’s’ and ‘ah’s’ as some skeletal teenager parades the catwalk in the most hilarious or sublime of outfits but so far, whisper it, I’m finding NYFW a bit, well, boring.
There are a lot of collections but not much catching my eye or interest so it’s been something of a relief to see Brandon Maxwell’s offering for this season.
Not spectacular or extravagant in design but much to please those of us who like our style to work well with our lives rather than impede our living of it.
I particularly like the swathe of satin across jeans and cashmere. – as seen above right and last below. We don’t all go to balls and galas when we go out. Heels, jeans, a jumper, all tied with an opulent bow. Lovely.
My kinda style and yours too, I hope.
