A striking feature of the Iris van Herpen Couture Spring 2018 show, titled ‘Ludi Naturae’, was her collaboration with Peter Gentenaar who makes stunningly beautiful paper sculptures.
For the show, which took place on January 22nd, 2018, at the Galerie de Mineralogie et de Geologie, in Paris, Peter Gentenaar created a site specific ‘floating installation that blossomed around the garments as the models moved’ – reference Peter Gentenaar blog: Installation, Iris Van Herpen Couture Collection Paris.
See more of both the Iris Van Herpen Collection and Peter Gentenaar’s Paper Sculptures on Iris Van Herpen’s website, plus there are a few images included here, below, along with a few more of my favourite Peter Gentenaar Paper Sculptures.
Having seen a video of the Show, I did a little exploring online and came across this, on Colossal in 2014: Delicate Paper Sculptures … which has some lovely images of Peter Gentenaar’s work.
And, I’d recommend a leisurely, and thorough, click through all the information to be found on Gentenaar Torley Paper Artists. Oh, the books … 🖤
Paper Sculpture. So Beautiful. Enjoy,
