Lacking both green fingers and the space to grow, my love of beautiful florals tends to be focused on photographic imagery (I don’t even like cut flowers as I feel sadder watching them die than I am happy to receive).
How lovely then to see these beautiful images from the portfolio of Livia Cetti at The Green Vase.
Paper flowers: fabulous. All the pleasure, none of the pain.
From The Green Vase website:
Livia Cetti is a renowned floral and still-life stylist, crafter, and creative director. Growing up in an artistic family in the mountains north of Santa Barbara helped define Livia’s organic sensibility.
In addition to her fine arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, she has more than 19 years of experience in the floral industry. During her time as a magazine editor, she oversaw the idea generation, editorial content, and style direction of hundreds of stories. Additionally, Livia has styled global print advertising campaigns and even created a custom floral installation for a state dinner at the White House.
Livia is also the country’s premiere paper-flower artist, known for her high-style, gorgeous tissue and crepe-paper flowers—which are usually mistaken for real blooms. The Exquisite Book of Paper Flowers [image below and available at all major booksellers] is her comprehensive how-to manual showcasing her until-now secret techniques for creating her coveted paper flowers. Following it with the release of her second book, The Exquisite Book of Paper Flower Transformations, out in April 2017. She currently teaches classes on paper flower making at the New York Botanical Garden and the New York Flower School…
