I received a Nowness email today with some info on the music of Matthew Stone who produces the soundtracks for, amongst others, Gareth Pugh.
This sent me off to the Youtube video of Gareth Pugh’s A/W 2013 Collection as there is nothing better than hearing the high wailing eeriness of this music combined with the dark majestic beauty of Pugh’s catwalk models striding the catwalk in his exquisite gothic-steampunk creations. Wonderful visuals.
For all that I have put aside my former life and bowed to the constraints imposed by long-term illness, I ache to wear so much of what was my absolute favourite Collection of last year. I know this seems shallow to some and I certainly do not sit around weeping at this, of all my losses, but I do feel the ‘pain’.
Luckily, this doesn’t prevent me appreciating, and being inspired by, all that I see and I cannot wait for September 25th to see the Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2014 Collection. Will I be disappointed? Ooh, I hope not.
It doesn’t seem shallow at all – at least not to me!

Ha, like spirits, I guess but you know how it is with the illness, disability and style thing … hard for some to imagine that no interest in style constitutes life diminishment to some of us – able bodied or not 😀
