Hard to miss the start of Fashion … month, is it now? I always enjoy the frivolity and fun of the bi-annual fashion frolics, especially the Haute Couture shows where I hope and expect to see the elite of contemporary great designers, those who have the funds to participate, let their fantasies fly free and wild.
My own visual pleasure comes with the ‘wow’ and the giggles gasp rather then the ‘oh yeah, pretty’ or ‘commercial gold’ type of exclamation, though, of course, a combination of both is every backers, and probably every designers, dream.
On my first look, two days in, I am feeling a little disappointed as the wows are few and far between with commercial definitely rocking the runway.

I think the Giambattista Valli Collection is the closest to generating my wow response – see the beautiful salmon-pink meringue of a dress below, bottom image, and I love the Chanel hats but I’m still waiting to be blown away by the astoundingly beautiful or absurd … hoping it will happen soon.
