RIP Hubert de Givenchy

Sweeping across social media today came news of the death of Hubert de Givenchy. at the age of 91.

Givenchy was one of the iconic couturier’s of the twentieth century, possibly best known for his working relationship with Audrey Hepburn, their collaboration generating some of the best known style images of the period … most notably in the film, Breakfast At Tiffany’s.

As a lover of illustration, I’m marking the passing of this fashion icon with a few of his wonderful illustrations from a relatively recent book, published in 2014 by Imagine Editions: To Audrey With Love by Hubert de Givenchy.

Sadly, the book seems to no longer be in print and used editions are only available at about £500 and upwards. Scarily pricey.

Nevertheless, a wonderful gift in memory of two style icons for yourself or someone special, if you’re prepared to pay for it.

RIP Hubert de Givenchy 🖤💗🖤
