As an admirer of Bec Brittain’s Lighting for some time, I’m amazed that I haven’t featured her work here before now.
Certainly, since I’ve started planning my current home renovation – that’d be back in 2013 – I’ve been saving images of her lighting that I’ve marked for various spots in my refurbished space – the most prominent of these being the spectacular SHY 15, above, which would look brilliant in my new double height studio space … though I might need a slightly smaller one as this is about nine feet long.
Last week, trying to narrow down my potential light choices, I suddenly realised that Bec Brittain is one of the lighting designers that I could probably light my whole house with … Michael Anastassiades and Christopher Boots are the only two others.
Below are images of some of the designs I’d be going for but click across to the Bec Brittain site to see her complete portfolio.
FBC are the UK agents for Bec Brittain so, I think we need to get ourselves across to their premises and see if these lights are as spectacular in real life as they are online.
If so, I shall have to start thinking about whether I prefer to have a consistent cohesive lighting style from one designer throughout my home or something more eclectic, bringing in elements from all my favourites.
Decisions, decisions … 🤔
