Inspired by the fabulous Instagram image, first below @interiorblink, I’ve been thinking about how I might achieve a similar look in my bedroom.
I have the wall height, space and surround and, also, a rather special work of art that I would like to keep in situ.
My colour scheme is pale yellow – which makes me feel happy – with accents of orange and grey. I’ll maybe drop the orange and focus on the yellow and grey with a hint of black, if we go with these panels.
I’ve had in mind, for the longest time, that I would use these Timorous Beasties Golden Oriole Wallpaper Panels, above and second image below, somewhere and this bedroom alcove might be just the place.
My main worry is: too glitzy? My second worry is: Mr Plus Black, D.
D is not a man for shiny or pattern in any shape or form but he did agree that the Insta Image is just gorgeous (my words, not his) and would look fabulous in our bedroom.
Is the step from muted green glade to gold and black bling going to be too big for him to take?
If it is, De Gournay and Fromental supply the other best options I’ve seen but, wow, eyewatering £££ If we go that route. Probably cheaper to pay an artist to come in and paint it on.
I want life to be simple so I’m thinking to ease him into the decision by scaring him with the De Gournay, flashing him with a couple of the more subtle Timorous Beasties Wallcoverings, see below, and then …
He’ll be begging for the gold panels, no?
Wish me luck …
