Still recovering from a cold, laid up and feeling sorry for myself, I was momentarily diverted from my misery by these beautiful photographs which I saw in The Times earlier this week.

Showing my favourite few images from winners and commended photographers, I’d recommend you click across to see more from, and about, the Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, open to professionals and amateurs alike.

There’s an exhibition of selected photographs on the balcony at London Waterloo station from November 20 until February 4, followed by a nationwide tour.

Plus, an accompanying book, Landscape Photographer of the Year — Collection 11 is published tomorrow (AA Publishing £25) from all major booksellers.
