Some weeks ago, I saved a reference to some jazz poster art that I’d seen by Waldemar Swierzy, on the Rue Royale Fine Arts site.
Today, I clicked that link and it took me into a whole world of Polish Poster art that I’d had no idea existed. I have literally lost my afternoon in it – who knew posters were so interesting?
Yes, I’m sure some of you might have and I did know poster collecting is a ‘thing’ with a lot of people but, for me, not so much until now.
Turns out that posters by Waldemar Swiercy are quite collectible as are those by many other Polish artists. Take a peek at Polish Posters and the Pigasus Polish Poster Shop to see and read more.
With a huge house renovation project upcoming, which includes opening up our loft space to create a double-height studio, I am absolutely seeing some of these posters on our walls.
Looking at even the few examples that I’ve included here – what a fabulous, and fairly inexpensive way, to bring some fun and dynamic art into my, or any home, don’t you think?
Enjoy.
