The Haute Couture shows are all over now so time for a quick look back at some of the things that caught my eye because they were cute, funny, quirky, pretty, wacky or just plain weird.
The Elie Saab dress, above, is definitely the pretty and who wouldn’t want to be young, thin and carefree … wearing the cute neon colours of Antonio Ortega, below?
Continuing down the images below, Franck Sorbier showed the craziest headwear on the catwalk – and there was stiff competition!
Gustavolins – a Brazilian designer new to me – showed some nice architectural styling in a pleasingly wearable collection.
Love the perennial cosmopolitan vibe that Jean-Paul Gaultier collections have and the variety in his models – doesn’t this more mature model look too fabulous?
Viktor and Rolf swept the whoa-that’s-a collection- that’s-just-way-out-there-man award, although closely followed by Serkan Cura’s spring furs (tho’ I love those pink furry boots. My bad).
Back to the pretty with Stephane Rolland and Stephanie Coudert before ending with the slightly surreal collection of Ulyana Sergeenko who referenced Georgian and Armenian influences but wound up with Alice in Wonderland, I think.

Love the Stephanie Coudert look and the Gustavolins Haute Couture was my absolute favorite. The leather obi wrap and the dark floral were perfection.

Thanks so much for the very comprehensive reporting on the runway season – it’s such a great way to get an overview. Your site is a ‘gem’! (I particularly like the Gustaviolins collection, too….)
