What is not to love about this fab short video – go to Youtube for more – illustrating the imminent and upcoming Alber Elbaz & Lancome Collaboration? I adore fashion illustration and, in particular, quirky. Alber Elbaz does both in spades.
Non-[fashion]-conventionally shaped himself, Alber Elbaz is the creative director of Lanvin and seems to be that rare person in fashion who appreciates and understands that ‘normal’ women, of all shapes and sizes, are interested in design and style that works for them.
“If it’s not edible, it’s not food. If it’s not wearable, it’s not fashion.”
“Style is the only thing you can’t buy. It’s not in a shopping bag, a label, or a price tag. It’s something reflected from our soul to the outside world. An emotion.”
I’ve included a few of his illustrations here and hope you love them as much as I do. His input on product with Lancome rolls out globally mid-June and if you have as a soft a spot as I do for pretty packaging, you’ll no doubt be looking out for it. Let me know if you like …
Now if only we can get him to draw a voluptuous girl in a wheelchair… 😉
Spashionista (Alicia)
Ha, yes. If you ever see any fashion illustrations on that topic, do pass my way … I won’t be holding my breath!
Best, Elle 😉
Actually, I started one. If I can get my hand to heal sufficiently one of these days I hope to finish it.
Hi Alicia,
If you ever do, send it my way …
Elle 😀
