Looking through fashion illustrator Gladys Perint Palmer‘s book, Fashion People, I came across an illustration titled ‘We Three Kings …’ done in 1994, referring to Miyake, Yahamoto and Rei Kawakubo – photo by me attached here:

Having huge amounts of Miyake in my own wardrobe from a couple of decades ago, I was driven to look at the current collection for women (D has continued to buy Miyake but I have not as I cannot bear for it to be bunched up in my wheelchair). And how utterly fabulous it all is … I love the top above and wrap below.

Why have I been punishing myself by staying away for so long? I’ve always been able to find at least some Miyake that works well for plus sizes and, just maybe, I will revisit the idea of Miyake On Wheels – for the wrap at least. Miyake is widely sold in exclusive boutiques across the world or go to Farfetch, the fashion hub, to see what’s available where in the Miyake world right now. If you think you might like, view the S/S 2013 show on Youtube … just beautiful, don’t you think?
