Feeling overwhelmed? Sinking beneath the onslaught of Christmas … advertising, promotional product, emails, Christmas discounts, organising food, presents, social events …?
Me too. I’m almost at the point of junking my entire daily inbox which has so much ‘jangle’ in it that my head’s about to explode. And, I’m hugely irritated at what a ridiculous first world problem this all is.
So, time to take a breath. Step back. Get some perspective. Look for peace and beauty in the world.
Today, I found that in simply looking at some of The best entries so far in the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards.
I’ve popped back a couple of times to look at more of the photography throughout the day.
It grounds me to look at the magnificence of the world about us, seen through the eyes of other’s.
I am reminded of our individual impermanence: that this too will end. Whatever the ‘this’ happens to be. And, the world continues on it’s grander, greater cycle of existence, regardless.
Deep breaths. I feel calmer already. Tomorrow is another day.
