I featured the beautiful floral ice sculptures of Azuma Makoto on this blog in February 2015 so it was lovely to see more stunning Makoto iced florals being used scenically for the Dries Van Noten show in Paris a couple of days ago.
The New York Times T Magazine has featured them – with twelve slides – in The Story Behind the Magical, Ice-Encased Flowers at Dries Van Noten. I think Dries Van Noten has been, for years, consistently one of the most interesting designers to show in Paris and this S/S 2017 collection, with its glorious floral and sparkling jewelled accents, is every bit as inventive, wearable and gorgeous as you might hope.
I’ve attached a few of my favourite DVN looks below though I must say that the aforementioned video, last attachment below, is so worth watching as the entire collection comes alive with movement, music and mood.
