I’ve been looking at the Haute Couture Shows, Fall 2016, this week, mostly using the, fairly new, Vogue Runway app which I like a lot.
The couture shows aren’t, for me, about the new and exciting but more about admiring the extraordinarily beautiful workmanship in design, fabric and production that the major fashion houses are, currently, still willing to invest in.
Most people, in their right mind, wouldn’t dream of spending the enormous £££ it costs to wear these exquisite works of art but ‘art’ is indeed what couture is and long may it continue to be sought after, made and displayed to those of us who love the beauty to be seen in it.
You’ll find here a few of my favourite looks from the Fall 2016 shows, plus one of my illustrations of the Chanel outfit below.
Enjoy.
