I saw this fabulous photograph by Robert Doisneau on Twitter this week, courtesy of @History_of_Cool.
It just fills me with joy: so evocative of a moment in time, carefree dancing Be Bop style in uber-cool Paris of the 1950’s and yet so timeless in its’ joie-de-vivre.
Searching for it on Google, led me to a lovely blog, Chasing Light by Doug Kim where I found a couple of blog posts on Robert Doisneau, containing the photo above, amongst many others, each topped and tailed by Robert Doisneau quotes, including this under Be Bop en cave:
Chance is the one thing you can’t buy. You have to pay for it and you have to pay for it with your life, spending a lot of time, you pay for it with time, not the wasting of time but the spending of time.
-Robert Doisneau
Wonderful photo, interesting blog, much joy. Do click across and take a look.
Happy weekend.
