As I sadly peruse the meagre remains of the lighting budget for my house project, my heart simply refuses to catch up with my head on what’s realistic or, is it, as my mother used to say, that I’ve ‘got eyes bigger than [my] stomach,’ when it comes to overindulgence.
Some weeks back, these lovely hanging U Lights by Sabine Marcelis caught my eye on 1st Dibs – they’d Look fabulous over my three metre long Island unit or within the double-height space of our upstairs studio.
Ditto for the filter lights, below, seen alongside a number of other lovely lights on the Sabine Marcelis website.
I could put the mirrors in my bathroom; wall lamps in the studio; table lamps in the lounge; circular lights above my dining table.
Frustratingly, with a mind to budgetary constraints, I am going to have to tamper down my lighting ambitions which will involve making difficult choices and forgoing some of the delights under consideration here.
