We are well into the new year and I am only now posting for the first time in 2019. And the reason for my absence?
Finally, we signed the contract for the building work on our house – which I have been banging on about for most of 2018 … on the 24th of December 2018.
The work started on the 14th of January and, in the interim, we have had to find somewhere new to live for the duration – a period of 30 weeks; move into said accommodation; get all our possessions into storage; and deal with all the myriad of other issues that arise from such events.
It’s been a busy few weeks: blogging has been far from my mind and way beyond my physical capabilities (#tootiredtosleep).
However, very little keeps me from sneaking a peek at the bi-annual Haute Couture shows.
And I deserve a break, don’t I? Maybe more ‘need’ than deserve …
When it comes to Haute, I find it hard to get beyond Valentino as the star turn.
As I’ve said many times before, Pierpaulo Piccioli is an absolute genius of fabric and colour and design and, really, the man can do no wrong for me.
The Spring 2019 Haute Couture collection did not disappoint. I have attached several images of my favourite’s but if you have the time, do click the video link as the entire collection comes alive in movement..
I shall be clinging to such moments of beauty as I get down and dirty with my building works.
Imagination transcends reality … droplets of exquisite refreshment for the parched soul.
